A client running GP 2010 on Windows 7. Said he did the install to his workstation and sent a screen shot of the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error message. While there are several causes to this error he had messed around enough that by the time I got to a GoTo session he was actually showing:
ERROR [IM002][Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]Data source name not found and no default driver specified
After checking his 32-bit ODBC settings - nothing notable there, and registering IM we looked at the path to his IMDB file. He had used his X: drive mapping to point to the IMDB file and changing this to a UNC path resolved the error.
